Your privacy is the foundation of WorthIt. This policy explains, in plain language, what data the app handles and how it's protected. Short version: your financial information stays on your iPhone, and we don't want it.
1. Data we collect
WorthIt is a local-first app. Your wage, transactions, wishlist, receipts, scanned items, subscriptions, and spending history are stored exclusively on your device and, if you have it enabled, in your private iCloud account. We never receive, store, or have access to this information.
2. Data we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, email, or phone number.
- We do not track your location in the background.
- We do not sell, rent, or share any data with advertisers.
- We do not use third-party analytics that profile you.
3. Third-party services
Some features rely on external services to function. When you use these features, only the minimum necessary information is sent, and never your wage or full spending history:
- AI Price Search & Receipt Scanner: the item name or receipt image you submit is sent to our AI provider for processing and is not retained.
- Fuel Finder: your approximate location is used once, only when you tap the feature, to find nearby stations.
- Apple App Store: subscription billing is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
4. iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync, your WorthIt data is synced across your devices through your private Apple iCloud account. Apple handles this end-to-end; we cannot read your iCloud data.
5. Children's privacy
WorthIt is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
6. Your rights
Because all your data stays on your device, you are always in full control. You can delete any entry at any time, or remove the app to wipe everything instantly.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
